Shailabh Rauniyar

I am a PhD student at SDSMT, my recent research has been focused on the effect of microgravity on exogenic behavior and biofilm formation potential of extremophiles which was part of the project aimed for the development of a consolidated bioprocessing unit to convert crews wastes into bioelectricity during a space flight. Thermophiles were studied under simulated microgravity to investigate the changes in its morphology and enzymatic expression levels. Moving forward, I will be focused to study sulfate reducing bacteria. The project involves the use of epigenetics and omics to understand the mechanisms that influences biofilm formation and its response to variations in physiological, electrochemical and surface properties.
