News and Upcoming Events:Meet Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF)'s tiniest tenants Sanford Press Release by Erin Broberg Stay Tuned!Read more about Geochemical Controls on Carbon Sequestration regarding our recently funded NSF CBET project - Dr. Ustunisik (co-PI, GGE) with Dr. Lingwall (PI, CEE) and Dr. Sani (co-PI, CBE). Sanford News Crystal Archives of Magmatic Processes Ubide et al., 2021 article summarizes new insights into our understanding of how crystal archives can be used to reconstruct the dynamics of magmatic systems. Thirteen research articles exploit the crystal-eye to magmatic processes by applying novel petrological and geochemical approaches to a range of natural and experimental case studies that access different portions of magma plumbing system.Frontiers in Earth Sciences Editorial article Among these thirteen research articles is Kristen Lewis (MS Geology, 2020) recent paper from her thesis research entitled Experimental Constraints on Homogenization of Plagioclase-Hosted Melt Inclusions From Plagioclase Ultraphyric Basalts Lewis et al., 2021 Following her graduation in Spring, 2020 Kristen accepted a fully funded PhD offer from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand to continue her work on melt inclusions.
